I have to say this is the most frequently asked question: "What should I wear?"
Honestly the most important thing is that you feel comfortable with your outfit,
this well being will help you to relax in front of the camera,
if you are uncomfortable with what you are wearing it will show on the photos. Remember our favorite clothes are not always the most flattering in photos.
Here are some tips to help you look your best on the D-Day of your photoshoot in
Nice-Côte d'Azur.
"Self confidence is the best outfit, Rock it and own it"
1- Fluidity
Say YES to the dress, they really flatter the female body. Prefer flexible, fluid, light fabric (silk, linen, muslin) flowy dresses will look the part and add movement to the image, but will also help you pose more easily.
2- Prints
I love floral prints especially for the summer season it's a very good idea. There are so many prints to choose from, but avoid big patterns, logos, or big brands that will distract your face.
3- Colours
Neutral, soft and pastel colours looks great on the French Riviera. Coordinate your colors but stay subtle, don't overdo it, choose a color palette that everyone can personalise and make it unique.
To Avoid:
I'm not a big fan of black for a shoot, the details get lost in the shadows and make your photographs look dull. Prefer gray, olive green, brown or purple... if you like dark colors.
Avoid stripes, it gives an unpleasant photography optics Moiré effect.
4- Accessories
If you feel like it, don't forget to add more, use your creativity. Jewelry-Watch-Sunglasses-belt-scarf, all this adds variety to your photos and more ideas for poses. A special occasion, a celebration? Take with you a bouquet of flowers, balloons, a picnic basket, a bottle of Champagne...
5- Shoes
Yes Absolutely, we can see them even if your dress is long, choose colours, unique creations, dare, after all we are on the French Riviera !
But remember every very inch counts and the posture of your body depends on that, so don't especially go for that 12mm pair of Louboutin.
To walk around the old town of Nice or along the Promenade des Anglais wear flats, if it's a photo shoot on the beach, go bearfoot.
6- Hair and Makeup
Details count, a manicure is essential before the session, the hands are seen in many poses. But don't put pressure on yourself, I like a natural look, if you want the
"full show" treat yourself to a hairdresser and/or a professional make-up artist,
the city of Nice is full of them.
Remember
-Bring options, try a few outfits before choosing the winner; Although try not to exaggerate.
-Don’t match. Coordinate. Pick a palette of 3-4 colors. Let this be your starting place.
Think in terms of tones: blue tones, earth tones, neutrals, pastels, etc.
-Use the colour wheel to help you ( I absolutely love the Complementary and Compound option- play around)
-Wearing something that highlights your best asset during your session will give you a boost of confidence throughout the shoot that will definitely show in your final images.
The last word for the end and of course the most important to remember.
Be yourself, infuse your personality with your style!
