Newborn photoshoot at home with a toddler

I just love our home session, having a family photoshoot at home can be a great way to capture candid and intimate moments with your loved ones.

Taking newborn photographs with a toddler can be a fun and memorable experience for the whole family. However, it can also be challenging to get both children to cooperate and capture the perfect shot. Kids LOVE attention when its just on them and my sort of in-home newborn photoshoots focus exactly on this.

This gorgeous family totally went with the flow and embraced every ideas I was suggesting to them.

Connection over perfection, laughters and moments in-between over perfectly posed buckets and backdrops. I absolutely could’nt stop smiling during this newborn photoshoot.

Enjoy!

I include some precious tips for a successful newborn/family photoshoot at home

1-Choose the right room

Pick a room with good natural light and enough space for everyone to move around comfortably. Avoid cluttered or distracting backgrounds.

2-Set the scene

Add some personal touches to the room, such as flowers, books, or family photos. This can help add some character to the photos and make them more meaningful.

3-Dress appropriately

Coordinate outfits with your family members to ensure everyone looks good together. Choose colours that complement each other and avoid busy patterns. Always dress for the style of the room and consider the colour scheme.

4-Involve the toddler

Encourage the toddler to participate in the photoshoot. Let them hold the baby or sit next to them in some of the shots. This can help create a special bond and capture some sweet moments.

5-Use props

Consider using props such as blankets, pillows, or toys to add some variety and interest to the photos.

6-Communicate with your photographer

Talk to your photographer beforehand about your vision for the shoot. Share any specific poses or shots you want to capture. Also, let them know if there are any family dynamics they should be aware of.

7-Have fun

The most important thing is to have fun! Don't stress too much about getting the perfect shot. The best photos are usually the ones where everyone is relaxed and enjoying themselves.

By following these tips, you can ensure a successful and enjoyable family photoshoot in the comfort of your own home.
